Hello World! I am finally blogging!

Soooooo, I am a little late to this whole blogging game, but I am so excited to be finally here, and with a snazzy, pretty new website to go with it! Woo hoo!! It has been a long time in the making to get here, around about 6 years on the “To-Do” list, so you can imagine my excitement, happiness and sheer relief that we are finally here. I hope you like it! Please let me know what you think (well as long as it’s good feedback 😉 )

And for the blogging bit… It is long overdue… I am a talker, a sharer and I love to write, so really a blog is a perfect platform for me to share my beautiful clients’ images, snippets of my life and loves and whatever else takes my fancy. I would love for you to pop by and keep in touch.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have supported Smile! over the past 13 years, thank you to the amazingly patient team at Media Novak who have designed this website and rebranded Smile! (can’t recommend them highly enough) and to my lovely family who coped with me being holed up in my office for days on end and only bothered me about half the amount of time as normal!

Catherine + Matt – Matilda Bay, Perth Wedding WA

Catherine and Matt were married under the trees, on the shores of the Swan River on a mild Summer’s Day late last year. It was perfection!

I am always a fan of personalised ceremonies, and loved all the cheeky and funny stories of Catherine and Matt’s courtship, particularly how it was an ex-boyfriend’s weird stalker-y behaviour that ultimately led them to get together!! Hilarous! That’s 1-0 to you Matt 😉

We then had a quick trip around some local spots for our Bridal Party Shoot, the stunning University of Western Australia (I will never tire of shooting here!), the famous Blue Boat Shed in Nedlands and then the shoreline of Matilda Bay. I have photographed these beautiful locations many times, but love how the light and colours change year round and always like to challenge myself to produce new and unique images for each couple.

The weather, the light, the locations, the people, everything was so perfect. It is so rare that a wedding day runs so smoothly. Given that the Groom had warned me that he hated photos and didn’t smile, I thought I might be in for a challenge… So as I left, knowing I had cards full of images of stolen smiles and Matt told me that it hadn’t actually been that bad after all, I gave myself a silent high five for such high praise and left a happy photographer!
